That this Committee expresses in the strongest possible terms its outrage with this Government for reneging on its promise to provide funding for the Lucan Swimming Pool, incorporated in the new Lucan Sports and Leisure Centre. This is a facility that I and the Lucan community have identified many years ago, as required to enhance the quality of life of the people of Lucan and their families. That this Committee also supports the Manager in his efforts to negotiate governmnent funding for our Swimming Pool, including through the Swimming Pool Programme, and requests that the Manager agrees to bring back by way of a Headed Item to a further meeting, either to this Area Committee, the Full Council or the Strategic Policy Committee on Sports, Recreation and Community, including Parks, as soon as there any further developments on this crucial issue for Lucan.

That the Manager acknowledge the sewage infrastructure difficulties at (details supplied separately) and the regular inconvenience associated with these problems owing to the lack of fall-away in the pipes, and that the Manager would agree that works are required to be carried out outside these houses to rectify this problem. That the Manager would also agree that no further payments should be requested in the meantime from the residents concerned until these works are carried out outside the gardens concerned.

That this Committee now requests the Manager to agree to an independent noise measure review on the Outer Ring Road at the residential areas in Lucan, as a result of inconsistent, and varying types, shapes and materials used in boundary treatments provided, and in many cases none, as part of the Outer Ring Road up-grading works now completed. Many residents on the Outer Ring Road have incurred increased noise levels which are affecting their quality of life and have made exhaustive efforts to have these issues addressed - to date with no success.
