Policy LHA 15 Trees and Woodlands/Table 4.3.4 Tree Preservation Orders
That a survey of significant groups of trees in the Lucan area, including the trees along the Old Lucan Road, at the rere of Esker Lawns estate, be carried out with a view to including some of them in the list of Tree Preservation Orders.
REPORT:
The Council will review the existing Tree Preservation Orders in the County and as part of that review will undertake an assessment of significant trees, groups of trees and woodlands in the county with a view to making further Tree Preservation Orders in circumstances where it is considered desirable, and where the subject trees meet the requirements set out in the TPO Guidelines issued by the DoEHLG, to enhance the protection of such trees.
Manager’s Recommendation::
It is recommended that the Draft Development Plan inlcude a new policy to state:
'The Council will review the existing Tree Preservation Orders in the County and as part of that review will undertake an assessment of significant trees, groups of trees and woodlands in the county with a view to making further Tree Preservation Orders in circumstances where it is considered desirable, and where the subject trees meet the requirements set out in the TPO Guidelines issued by the DoEHLG, to enhance the protection of such trees.'
