To amend Schedule 3 to clarify that the “Shop-Major Sales Outlet” building class relates to units in excess of 1000sq.m net public floor area.
REPORT:
The definition of shop-major sales outlet is carried over from the current CountyDevelopment Plan. Given the type and scale of development it is considered that the definition should state 'in excess of 1500sq.m of net retail area'. This floor area reflects larger convience goods shops while allowing for consideration of sales outlets in the interests of revitalising and improving local shopping areas.
Recommendation
That the definition of 'Shop-Major Sales Outlet states 'in excess of 1500sq.m of net retail area'
