That SDCC engage with the relevant bodies responsible for the upkeep & maintenance of the much valued Grand Canal Green Route. Litter bins not being emptied and graffiti are constant issues and are not being tackled with the necessary commitment.

That this Committee requests the Council to write to the Minister for Justice Alan Shatter to appeal on behalf of Alpha Gassama who resides in the Tower Reception Centre Clondalkin.  We are appealing to the Minister to let Alpha stay in Ireland on the grounds that his life would be in danger if he was to go back to Guinea.  Alpha has been in Ireland for the past eight years and has done numerous voluntary works since his arrival here in 2004.

The laneway beside Rye Cottage on Boot Road in Clondalkin is a source of constant annoyance to residents.  There is a lot of dumping and there is a big problem with graffitti and weed etc.  To ask the Manager can an action plan be put in place to tackle this eyesore?
