MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

That this Committee congratulates the Clondalkin Camera Club on its 25th anniversary and hosts a small ceremony to congratulate them in the Clondalkin Civic Offices

REPORT:

At the Organisation Procedure & Finance Committee meeting held on the 20th March 2008, the members agreed a protocol to honour distinguished persons for significant achievement.

Please note the protocol below with regards to request for Civic Receptions

Civic Reception:

All proposals should in the first instance be submitted to the Mayors office for inclusion on an agenda for discussion with the Group Leaders and agreement in principle reached.

• Where agreement in principle has been reached, a motion should be placed by the Mayors office on the agenda for a meeting of the appropriate Area Committee Meeting for consideration and recommendation.
• This recommendation should then be placed on the agenda for a meeting of the Organisation Procedure & Finance Committee for consideration and decision.
• The Mayor(or Deputy Mayor) will honour the recipient(s) with a Civic Reception following a meeting of  the appropriate Area Committee Meeting or in exceptional circumstances following a meeting of South Dublin County Council.
• Appropriate arrangements will be put in place by the Corporate Services Department subject to budgetary and time constraints and the agreement of all parties concerned in keeping with the stature of the event.
