QUESTION NO. 7
QUESTION: Councillor T. Delaney
To ask the Manager for an update on the proposed Taxi parking area(s) in Clondalkin Village?
REPLY:
A local Authority may make bye-laws in respect of any specified area in it's functional area (referred to as a "taximeter area") for the regulation of Taxis. Earlier this year Lucan Village was selected as a pilot Taximeter Area and draft Bye-Laws were published in May 2012. The submissions received are currently being examined.
It is intended to develop a county wide approach to the provision of taxi ranks following the completion of the Bye Laws process in Lucan. Locations identified will be brought forward and included in draft Bye Laws.
