MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

That the Manager present a report on the facilities in the Clondalkin area for bicycle parking.  While the Neilstown shops has been pointed out as having no facilities at all for bicycle parking, there is hardly any bicycle parking facilities in the whole electoral area. Can a commitment be made to plan for better provision.

REPORT:

It is intended that cycle stands be provided at suitable locations in the County these will be funded through a grant from the NTA.  Locations being considered in the Clondalkin area include Bawnogue, Deansrath, Clondalkin Town Centre, Neilstown, Ronanstown, Balgaddy, Corkagh Park. The cycle stands will be provided mostly at areas where there is a possibility of passive surveillance e.g. areas of high use, community centres, libraries, civic centres etc.
