MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor G. Kenny

That this Committee requests the Council to write to the Minister for Justice Alan Shatter to appeal on behalf of Alpha Gassama who resides in the Tower Reception Centre Clondalkin.  We are appealing to the Minister to let Alpha stay in Ireland on the grounds that his life would be in danger if he was to go back to Guinea.  Alpha has been in Ireland for the past eight years and has done numerous voluntary works since his arrival here in 2004.

REPORT:

If the Members agree with the sentiments of the Motion then a recommendation will be brought to the full Council in the context of a report from the Area Committee.
