Correspondence
Email, dated 20th June 2007 from Clare County Council, regarding motion passed seeking the support of all County Councils affected by lack of sewerage schemes either due to lack of funding or failure to get foreshore licences to their towns.
Motions
That the Manager adopts a green procurement policy for South Dublin County Council to include a wide range of issues including greenhouse gas emissions, worker's rights, animal welfare, recycling, sustainable timber procurement, packaging, toxic materials, energy efficiency, vehicles, organic food, etc.
That this County Council agrees (a) to write to the Minister for the Environment asking him to introduce legislation to devolve the powers of the Private Rental Tenancies Board to County Councils (with adequate financial resources) and
(b) to introduce amending legislation whereby rogue tenants can be dealt with, up to eviction if absolutely necessary, without local residents having to expose their identities in cases where their safety might be under threat.
That the Manager outline Council's attitude and approach to :
- repairs and improvements carried out privately to Local Authority Homes
- specifically with regard to reimbursement or deduction from price on purchase.
