Motions
That this area committee considers replacing the bins in Prospect Manor with SDCC maintained bins. The estate is currently managing their own bins yet this has become unsustainable.
This local area committee calls for action to ensure full visibility of the new play space located beside the Perrystown Community Centre at the 8 Acres in Dublin 12 throughout the year.
This is necessary in order to deter any further anti-social behaviour taking place at this location.
Tall hedging and no lighting in this area has attracting unwanted attention from young people who of course have no where else to go. This is a secluded area currently and residents have complained of extensive noise issues, verbal abuse and items being thrown onto the street. Gardaí do not have the resources required to patrol regularly and further action is now required from SDCC to ensure this is a successful playspace for the area.
That this Area Committee requests that the Manager ensures there is consultation between the Gardaí, Foroige and local teenagers in relation to the proposed Teen Space in Ballycragh Park. There is enormous support for the project locally and all these stakeholders would like to ensure it's success by making sure all the necessary groundwork is done. Also, can we see what's planned for the space?
That this Area Committee calls on the manager to include the equipment play as part of the planned works for Tymon Park playground.
That the Chief Executive presents a report on the pitch allocations for the Rathfarmham/Templeogue/Firhouse Bohernabreena area and what the future plans are for the pitches being developed at Old Bawn and Mount Carmel Park. There is significant interest from Clubs within our electoral area for these facilities.
That the Chief Executive takes steps to improve the fencing around the perimeter of Kiltipper Park, presently designed to keep sheep out rather than dogs in, in view of reports from local farmers of a number of livestock deaths earlier this year and that more signage be introduced to the park in advance of lambing season.
That this local area committee requests that suitable play facilities and wheelchair access are provided at the very earliest convenience to ensure that younger children and children with disabilities are able to participate and play along side their siblings and friends at the recently opened and very successful new play space at the Limekiln Road entrance of Tymon Park.
That this Area Committee requests that the Manager presents a report on the upkeep and maintenance of the Orlagh Roundabout, especially in light of the recent works carried out there. The area is overgrown and unsightly and in a worse state than before works were carried out last year.
That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to ensure that priority is given to the repair and maintenance of litter bins across the Rathfarnham Templeogue area.
For example the litter bin in College Drive has been the subject of numerous members reps, foxes get at the bin because it's latch is broken, leaving extra work for litter maintenance personnel to clear up. Fixing or replacing the bin would appear to be the solution.
That the Chief Executive issue specific instructions to contractors and council employees regarding the limited circumstances in which hedge-cutting is permitted during the off-season under s40 Wildlife Act 2000 in light of reports of the ban being ignored in the Glenasmole, Kilakee, Mount Venus areas and that the Environment SPC be asked to draft those instructions.

That the Council would conduct an immediate review of the footpaths in the Templeville, Cypress and Wainsfort areas, with a view to scheduling their repair
That this Area Committee call on the Manager to undertake to upgrade the road idenitified in MembersNet Enquiry 1469120. This is the former main road in the area and as well as local residents using it, the school bus travels it several times a day. But it is getting increasingly difficult to use the road as the hedges are overgrown and the road is full of dangerous potholes.
That this Area Committee requests that the renovation of the Rosemount Carpark is made a priority following the review of paid parking in the County.
That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to present a report on the proposed ramps in the RTFB area.
That the Chief Executive assesses the need for footpaths on Mount Venus Road given the high volume of pedestrian traffic connected to the DSPCA and prepares a report for this Committee.
That this Area Committee ask the Chief Executive that the footpaths in Ballyroan Road are reviewed and repaired as a matter of urgency - they have deteriorated quite considerably in recent years particularly in the vicinity of 162-170.
