QUESTION NO. 8
QUESTION: Councillor B. Lawlor
To ask the Chief Executive to undertake to honour the commitments given to residents along the Scholarstown Road while the new shared surface cycleway and pavement were being constructed and put in place signage to alert road users that traffic may exit onto the shared surface.
REPLY:
No commitment was given to residents by the Council to erect this type of signage. It would be wholly impractical and unsafe to erect such signage at every private entrance. It is incumbent on all road users to expect traffic from private entrances. Likewise, drivers exiting and entering their driveways should take due care of all persons on the shared path
