MOTION: Councillor P. Kearns

That this committee calls on the manager to include the equipment play as part of the planned works for Tymon Park playground

REPORT:

The Public Realm section have selected the equipment and appointed a contractor to carry out the installation of same and upgrade of surfacing at Tymon Park playground. Given the nature of working with wetpour safety surfacing our contractor is not yet in a position to give a start date for works. Laying wetpour requires a dry period with sufficiently high temperatures to ensure that the surfacing bonds correctly. Public Realm will update elected members when the contractor confirms the programme of works; this will entail checking weather forecasts and availing of the earliest opportunity to carry out the works. The equipment will be installed prior to the upgrade of the surface.
