"The Council currently has two proposed usages for the one piece of land, beside the Convent on Firhouse Road. There is a part 8 which shows a running track in place and a Development plan, long term goal which shows a road and bridge across the Dodder.

Can the council confirm that the running track is the preferred option for this land going forward? If it is I recommend this AC request the removal of the long term goal of the bridge and roaad from the development plan."

"That the Chief Execucitive arrange for the tree removal (address supplied) be added to the list or expedited if already on the list, as the tree at this address is blocking the light into the house and causing problems for the owner."

Mot (8)
Submitted by:
Councillor A-M. Dermody
Responsibility:
Leo Magee

"That the Chief Executive through the engagement of the Public Realm section consider and outline what improvement works could be considered for inclusion at the car park at Grange Road/Rathfarnham Road, especially given the increased footfall through the area ahead of the 1916 commemorations. The area ought be examined to determine what works are required to bring it to an acceptable standard, those works ought to be costed and presented to this Committee for consideration and from there be considered for inclusion in the Public Realm Improvement Works Programme for 2016. One of the main issues raised here is the present condition of the glass recycling bring banks at this location.  I'm seeking a full report on the engagement by the Council's service contractor RehabGlassco since I sought this in my motion to the Council in October.

I understand the Rathfarnham Tidy Towns group has disbanded and I’m calling on Public Realm section to include the car park at this location in the weekly cleansing schedule. I’m asking for the bollards to be repainted, for the cycle stand to be tidied and the cover replaced. Please also confirm if contact was made with the Tidytowns group to establish and confirm the present position and to see if perhaps the Council could help resolve any issues facing the group."

Mot (9)
Submitted by:
Councillor A-M. Dermody
Responsibility:
Leo Magee

"That a plan be presented to this Committee showing how the area of land on Whitchurch Road and next to St. Gatiens Court can be improved and tidied up.  There is written confirmation from the Council  two years ago that this area would be made better but there was no follow through from the Council.  This area is close to the entrance to St. Enda's Park and with the increased visitor numbers to the area next year it is important that the area be improved and its potential realised.  It is not enough to simply remove the weeds and cut back the grass can the area be planted which in turn would reduced the likelihood of fly tipping at this location."

"The residents at Owendoher Haven have complained about sewage backing up into their sinks.  The smell is noticeable all around Ballyboden roundabout.  I have also raised this with Irish Water.

Can we work alongside them to rectify the issues well in advance of the ballyboden infill construction."

Mot (11)

"That the Chief Executive arrange for a clean up of the boundary of the Traveller Accommodation on Stocking Avenue and arrange a plan to tackle the problem at source and arranges, following numerous requests, to have the graffiti removed from the boundary wall - it ought to be an embarrassment to the Council."

Mot (12)

"Recognising that around 70 social housing units will be built in Ballyboden and Stocking Lane, this motion calls on South Dublin County Council to provide a detailed study of potential infill sites in the Templeogue-Terenure local electoral area only;

And for these sites to be reviewed under criteria of -

Size.
Accessibility.
Utility constraints and buried pipework.
Flooding history.
Impact on adjoining community.
Overall suitability."
