MOTION: Councillor A-M. Dermody

"That the Chief Executive confirm when the traffic calming measures proposed for Ballyboden Way and confirmed as far back as 2012 (Ref.1018181) will be done.  To ask why it is the case that resources have been spent on other traffic calming requests but this request has not been included & does not appear to have been included thus far."

REPORT:

A short list of locations for traffic calming in the Rathfarnham Area was chosen in February 2014. Ballyboden Way was not one of the locations chosen. The short list was drawn up from longer lists of requests for traffic calming requests both for roads and for cells.It appears that there may have been some differences between lists.

The locations for 2015 were selected in conjunction with the Members.

All traffic calming requests have now been consolidated and Ballyboden Way is on the consolidated list. Subject to funding being available in 2016 the location can be considered. 

It should be noted that the presence of any location on the requests list is not a guarantee that the location is suitable or appropriate for traffic calming.
