MOTION NO. 12

MOTION: Councillor F. Warfield

"Recognising that around 70 social housing units will be built in Ballyboden and Stocking Lane, this motion calls on South Dublin County Council to provide a detailed study of potential infill sites in the Templeogue-Terenure local electoral area only;

And for these sites to be reviewed under criteria of -

Size.
Accessibility.
Utility constraints and buried pipework.
Flooding history.
Impact on adjoining community.
Overall suitability."

REPORT:

A detailed study of infill sites owned by South Dublin County Council was carried out in late 2014.  These sites were reviewed under criteria of –

Sketch designs were prepared to estimate yield and a series of informal briefings held with each Area Committee. Following these meetings a list of sites suitable for Part 8 Display and Consultation were drawn up and these are currently being rolled out.  At the time of this study there were no sites identified in the Terenure and Templeogue areas respectively. The list as below as reported to the Council at the March Council meeting will continue to be progressed. The Council is preparing to investigate suitability of potential sites in the Terenure / Templeogue area and as discussed at the last Housing SPC meeting.
