Mot (3)
Submitted by:
Councillor A-M. Dermody
Responsibility:

"That the Chief Executive inform whether or not there is any restricted limitation in the planning code that says that the revenue raised as a result of planning levies, that a certain percentage be assigned or ring-fenced for spending on specific projects within an area. This motion is borne out of the number of residents who are not pleased with the disruption caused by large planning developments but such frustration would be mitigated somewhat by improvements in parks or other areas resulting from planning levies."

Transportation

Questions

Qu (8)
Submitted by:
Councillor A-M. Dermody
Responsibility:
Seamus Fagan

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide an assessment on the completion of the new entrance at Knockcullen, confirming that adequate street lights were used, that there is signage indicating an entrance on both left and right approaches to the estate,  confirm also if it is the case that the new entrance is located opposite a bus stop and whether or not there was any engagment with Dublin Bus in relation to the relocation of that stop away from the entrance.  Please in your reply comment on whether or not there ought to be a yellow box at this junction?  Residents are complaining that this new entrance despite the money expended is now every bit the traffic hazard than the old entrance?"

Qu (9)
Submitted by:
Councillor S. Holland
Responsibility:
Andrew O'Mullane, John McLoughlin

"To ask the Chief Executive, given the current concerns around the Rosemount parking & shopping, whether it would be of any benefit to organise a meeting with the Rathfarnham Village traders, who encountered similar challenges and may have valuable input into possible solutions & suggestions?"

Qu (10)
Submitted by:
Councillor P. Kearns
Responsibility:
John McLoughlin

“To ask the Chief Executive whether the Transportation Department have examined the traffic flow at the roundabout at entrance to Woodstown Estate on Ballycullen Road at rush hour in the mornings, and if he will make a statement as to whether the Council has any proposals to improve traffic flow at this location?”

Responsibility:
Andrew O'Mullane, John McLoughlin

"To ask the Chief Executive that the parking sign at the entrance to St Mary's Terrace has been damaged for some time and people who use the local paper shop and local Yellow House have received parking fines and yet the sign is totally invisible - can the Council repair the existing sign and even place another more visible sign that drivers can actually see at the entrance to St Mary's Terrace as opposed to behind a thick ESB Pole?"

Qu (16)
Submitted by:
Councillor D. O'Donovan
Responsibility:
Tony O Grady

"To ask the Chief Executive when will the current public lighting upgrade be finished in the Rathfarnham/Terenure/Templeogue Area?"

Qu (17)
Submitted by:
Councillor D. O'Donovan
Responsibility:
Seamus Fagan

"To ask the Chief Executive to put in place correct road signage at the new entrance to Knockcullen.  A yield sign needs to be put in place at the junction where the Knockcullen Cul-de-sac meets the main Knockcullen Road through to Elkwood and Ashton, together with a slow and stop sign as you enter the estate.  Residents have also requested a Zebra Crossing to facilitate reaching the bus stop on the Knocklyon Road.  Can the Chief Executive confirm who paid for the new entrance as some residents believe the developer responsible for the new estate behind the garage on the Knocklyon Road paid for it?"

"That this Council write to Dublin Bus to ask about the review of the 15B route, and that residents of Whitechurch estate are considered.  It was moved away from Whitechurch estate in order to service Stocking Wood and residents of Whitechurch are now left only with the 61.  The 61 leaves only once per hour and goes to town via a circuitous route.  Residents have asked that the 15B pass by again to pick them up as the area is currently well underserviced by public transport."

Mot (5)
Submitted by:
Councillor R. McMahon
Responsibility:
Tony O Grady

"That the Council rebuild and repair the boundry wall along the road on the South Side of Bohernabreena Pitch & Putt Club, where a number of car crashes have damaged or completely knocked down the wall. It is now a matter of road safety as the wall protect cars and pedestrians from falling down the steep incline. The wall should be reinstated to the original standard and style."

"That this area Committee calls on South Dublin County Council to implement a practical and achievable programme of tree replacements in the Orwell Park Estate - Orwell Park Green, Way, Avenue and Cresent, where old, unsafe trees have previously been removed."

Submitted by:
Councillor R. McMahon

"That the Chief Executive following on from the Deputation from Firhouse Village Community Council, can a pathway along by Scoil Treasa from the Shopping Centre to Carrigwood and Woodlawn across the green be provided."

Mot (11)
Submitted by:
Councillor D. O'Donovan
Responsibility:
Mary Keenan

"That the Chief Executive ensures that the tree debris is removed from the Rathfarnham Graveyard and the ground is repaired on the Dodder View Road after trees were removed from there. The Tidy Towns Committee does invaluable work in the area and it is very frustrating for them to have their hard work destroyed by SDCC agents.  It would be beneficial for the entire community if local interest groups were consulted when such works are due to be carried out in their area.  SDCC should be working to support community groups."

Mot (12)
Submitted by:
Councillor A-M. Dermody
Responsibility:
Michael Hannon

"That the Chief Executive confirm what progress has been made since I put down a motion (specifics as to date to follow) with regard to the Ballyboden roundabout and St. Catherine’s Gate. I described and once more affirm my view that this roundabout is the “poor relation”, a useful exercise would be to compare the budget spends on each of the three in a row roundabouts stretching from Ballyboden, to Templeroan, up to Orlagh. There is huge potential at the Ballyboden roundabout as any landscape design can incorporate the areas of disused land behind the stone walls. It is important also as we approach the Centenary celebrations next year and visitors coming to visit Pearse’s Museum, that the area look its best, but lest there be any doubt this is work that the Chief Executive agreed sometime back to do, with the passage of time and no progress there is now an even more pressing reason to get this roundabout looking better."
