COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF RATHFARNHAM/TEMPLEOGUE-TERENURE AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO. 16
QUESTION: Councillor D. O'Donovan
"To ask the Chief Executive when will the current public lighting upgrade be finished in the Rathfarnham/Terenure/Templogue Area?"
REPLY:
The public lighting in question is in Knocklyon and concerns the replacement of 100 poles in the area as part of our Structural Upgrade Programme. This is a phased programme that is being rolled out to replace aging columns that are currently part of the county public lighting network.
The columns were replaced and all associated works completed by our maintenance contractor Al Read Ltd in late December 2014. However, ESB Networks have delayed the connection of these new columns due to various administrative and technical reasons. We are currently in contact with them on a regular basis to expedite the matter and we have been informed that the columns will be connected within three weeks.
