To ask the Manager to report on the public's use at Lucan Demesne - a local and regional treasure greatly appreciated by the general public, especially in the Lucan area? Would he outline:

  • What works are currently taking place in Lucan Demesne
  • Plans to mark out car parking places in the car park in Lucan Demesne that would help avoid congestion
  • What Short Term Car Parking Regulations will be introduced to help eliminate the all-day car parking currently taking place which is restricting residents who are visiting Lucan Demesne from parking in the car park?

That this Committee calls for the Council Management to make contact with the owner of the lands between Deerpark and Killinarden Heights to ensure that they secure their lands from joyriders and they also clean-up their lands as this site is an eyesore for residents of Deerpark Square and a magnet for anti-social behaviour, that if the land-owner does not respond in a postive way to this contact action should be taken under the derilict sites act to resolve the matter.

That this Council tests the radiation levels at 11, 13, 14, St. Ronan's Gardens Clondalkin. All the tenants fear that levels are excessively high.

That the Council writes to the ESB and Eircom asking that they keep their boxes at the entrance to Woodfarm Acres free of graffiti and to business premises in Palmerstown Village with the same request, while complimenting Council staff in the excellent work they do against heavy odds to keep the County public areas free of graffiti and that a concerted effort be made to eradicate the practice at the pedestrian entrance to the Covert from Kennelsfort Road.  This area is nothing short of a disgrace between graffiti and dumping of rubbish.

To ask the Manager what use is to be made of the old stone material taken from the old Neilstown Bridge, if all of the stone is to be moved to Corkagh Park, and if the North Clondalkin Community Development Association has been consulted about the possible use of some of the stone for a piece of public sculpture in the north Clondalkin area?
