QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to address the condition of the site at *Address Supplied, that is in joint ownership of a building company and this Council - to make a safe and secure boundary to prevent access to the site by people engaged in ASB and local children from playing in what is categorically a dangerous environment?"

REPLY:

The site is in private ownership.  This site was inspected by the Area Engineer and was identified as being derelict.  A Notice under Section 11 of the Derelict Sites Act 1990 was issued to the owner requesting a number of works to be carried out to render the site non derelict.

On expiry of the Notice the site will be re-inspected and if the works outlined in the Notice have not been completely, the matter will be referred to the Council’s Law Department and legal proceedings may be instituted.
