QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to indicate by way of comparison the services and facilities potentially lost to this council due to the exorbitant costs of cleanups after bonfires that followed Halloween?"

REPLY:

Any expenditure relating to clean-ups carried out by the Environmental Services Department relating to bonfire material is taken from the provision in the Budget for the Cleansing service. 

The total cost of the clean-ups undertaken by the Environmental Services, Parks and Housing Departments is currently being compiled.  A recent report on a Motion relating to this issue was given to this Committee by the Parks Department in which a commitment was given to circulate further information to the Members.
