QUESTION NO 3.

QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

To ask the Manager to immediately address the unkempt grass verges and what appears to be wasteland surrounding the Tallaght Leisure Centre, bearing in mind that the outer appearance of the centre if it is negative has an extremely detrimental affect on the usage of the facility which is not in the interest of the Council, in addition to review the safety of the carpark in the facility in relation to the lack of pedestrian routes through it and the number of children who are users of the facility?

REPLY:

 South County Dublin Leisure Services ltd. operates and manages the Tallaght Sports and Leisure Centre on behalf of South Dublin County Council and has responsibility for all maintenance matters. The matter regarding the surrounding area will be taken up with both the Roads and Parks departments.

The car park safety issue will be addressed by them in the context of their 2009 maintenance plan for the facility.
