QUESTION NO. 8
QUESTION: Councillor T. McDermott
"To ask the Manager to review the traffic control ramps on Butterfield Park as they are not effective?"
REPLY:
As part of Butterfield Traffic Calming Scheme, 8 traffic calming ramps were installed on Butterfield Park in 2006. The dimensions of these ramps are in keeping with the Traffic Management Guidelines issued by Department of Transport in 2003. The purpose of these traffic calming ramps is to slow down traffic on Butterfield Park and confine the speed to within the speed limit of 50 kilometres which is the operative speed limit on this road.
