To ask the Chief Executive what immediate and long-term measures are being taken by the council to address the growing issue of graffiti in Clondalkin, particularly in public spaces, parks, and near schools. Residents are increasingly frustrated by the lack of visible clean-up efforts and prevention strategies. Will the council commit to increasing resources for graffiti removal and implementing deterrents such as better lighting or community-based initiatives.

The lane is currently affected by illegal dumping, persistent littering, the presence of hazardous gas cannisters, and graffiti defacing the utility box. That this Area Committee request the manager agree a €10,000 interest free, pre credit facility for a select number of reliable tidy towns and community groups in the Clondalkin LEA. Groups must provide transparency and value for money the current year, within reason to be accepted onto the program, the following year. €10K comprised of 10 community groups * €1K, to be eligible for the fund, groups can claim max 50% up to €1K.

That this Area Committee requests SDCC liaise effectively with relevant landowners along the Slí Mhór (Knockmeenagh Lane) to inform them of the important economic and tourist heritage of this pathway and to engender their respect for it so that further erosion or damage to it is prevented. Knockmeenagh Lane is part of the pre-Christian Slí Mhór, established well before 432AD. The route once led directly to St Brigid's Well where rare drinkable water was available for people and their animals in those times.

Residents have stated the upgrades have since made the road more dangerous since there is less space to manoeuvre on the road.

That this Area Committee agrees to ask the manager to address the Nangor Rd, at the double roundabout which has had lines repainted when the potholes haven't been filled in. It was thought that Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) were resurfacing the road after digging it up. When will the road be resurfaced? The whole length of the Nangor road is in an awful state.
