MOTION NO. 17

MOTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin

That this Area Committee agrees to construct bus stops between on the Hazelhatch Road, R405, between the Grand Canal and Newcastle Village, to facilitate use of the W6 bus without delay.

REPORT:

The National Transport Authority and the bus service providers are responsible for providing new or additional bus stops on bus routes such as the W6.

South Dublin County Council has raised this issue with the National Transport Authority and the Bus Service providers. The NTA has agreed in principle that additonal bus stops are required at the described location. The next steps are to identify exact locations for the bus stops, complete detailed designs for them and get final appproval from the NTA to deliver them.
