"This Area Committee calls on the Manager to upgrade the public area known as the Belgard Walkway, This route is used by pedestrians travelling from the Square. Parthalan Place and from the LUAS terminus. The area behind the Civic on both sides of the road is dark and overgrown, there are uninviting metal barriers and ugly bottle banks beside the start of the route the lights on the Walkway need repairs and the trees need pruning. This is a natural route for people accessing the Belgard Road and its environs and it should be a safe and well lit area for those we are encouraging to use public transport."
