QUESTION: Councillor D. Richardson

"To ask the Manager to report on litter dumping in problematic areas in Tallaght and has anything changed since cameras have gone in to areas?"

REPLY:

Four CCTV Schemes were installed on a temporary basis by SDCC in accordance with the LGMA Code of Practice for the Operation of CCTV for the Purposes of Prevention, Detection & Prosecution of Waste Offences, in late July 2025.

To date there has been 5 recorded incidents of illegal waste activity captured.

The incidents all involved vehicles transporting and depositing waste and our Waste Enforcement Officers are in the process of carrying out enforcement actions against the registered owners of the vehicles.
