"To ask the Chief Executive to have lighting installed on the public pathway leading from Pairc Mhuire to Main St. opposite Mill Lane, Saggart. Many residents of Pairc Mhuire, some elderly, use this path and it can be intimidating after dark?"

Qu (4)
Submitted by:
Councillor B. Leech
Responsibility:
Jim Kennelly

"To ask the Chief Executive if consideration could be given to have ramps installed in Russell Place? Due to the high volume of traffic at peak times, Russell Place is being used as a short cut rat run to get from the Jobstown Road to Fortunestown Way and vice versa thereby avoiding the traffic lights. Vehicles are driving through at high speed and residents have lost their patience with it?"

Qu (5)
Submitted by:
Councillor M. Duff
Responsibility:
Tony O Grady

"To ask the Chief Executive to indicate if there is an intention to complete the footpath repairs in the Castle Park area, paying particular attention to the paths leading from the entrance to Castle Park at the Castletymon junction end to St. Aengus Parish Church?"

Qu (6)
Submitted by:
Councillor B. Leech
Responsibility:
Tony O Grady

"To ask the Chief Executive if the Council can give a commitment that damaged road signs within estates be replaced in a short time frame.  A lot of road signs within estates have been damaged and defaced and in some cases removed. In estates such as Russell, Kilmartin, and Rossfield some have disappeared altogether. It is very important that these estates should have pride in their areas and street names give them a sense of ownership and identity, and do not feel neglected. Even a damaged one such as Russell Lane should be replaced?"

Qu (7)
Submitted by:
Councillor C. O'Connor
Responsibility:
John Coughlan

"To ask the Chief Executive to confirm when he now expects completion of all works on the Cycle Lane from Tallaght Village and will he present a detailed report on works thus far and also detail actions taken to deal with the negative image created by aspects of the project?"

Qu (8)
Submitted by:
Councillor D. Richardson
Responsibility:

"That this Committee asks the Chief Executive to have the sign for Killinarden on the N81 spelled properly.  The sign says Killinardan.  Residents have contacted SDCC and asked for this to be fixed and have not got any response, can this sign be fixed as soon as possible?"

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to install a second ramp on the old Naas Road outside the residential properties.  Since the installation of a ramp on the old Naas Road, planning permission has been granted for Keenan refrigeration to develop their site, which will see an increase in traffic and HGV's.

Mot (3)
Submitted by:
Councillor M. Duff
Responsibility:
Tony O Grady, Mary Maguire

That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to commence immediately a programme of Graffiti removal from public utility boxes, signposts, lampposts and walls in the Tallaght area, paying particular attention to the area along the Old Tallaght Road, from the Glenview Roundabout to the rear walls of Glenview Park opposite the Castletymon Junction, along Main Road and Main Street.

Mot (4)
Submitted by:
Councillor D. Richardson
Responsibility:
William Purcell

That this Committee supports the opening up of the road through Tallaght village at IT Tallaght. Businesses in the village are struggling to attract customers to the village, I believe a one way system out of the village would help with traffic flow and attract more people in to the village area.  We should be doing more to help attract more people in to the village. Traffic around the retail park can be very heavy with cars using this as a short cut to the Belgard Road.

That this Area Committee provide more signs on roads that lead into Tallaght. We have a sign coming off the Glenview roundabout with Tallaght on it, I believe we should have more of these signs on different roads into Tallaght and on the way out. There could be an option for the signs to be sponsored by business so there is no cost to the Council.
