QUESTION NO. 6
QUESTION: Councillor B. Leech
"To ask the Chief Executive if the Council can give a commitment that damaged road signs within estates be replaced in a short time frame. A lot of road signs within estates have been damaged and defaced and in some cases removed. In estates such as Russell, Kilmartin, and Rossfield some have disappeared altogether. It is very important that these estates should have pride in their areas and street names give them a sense of ownership and identity, and do not feel neglected. Even a damaged one such as Russell Lane should be replaced?"
REPLY:
As soon as the Area Engineer becomes aware of damaged signs, he arranges to repair or replace them. However there is a lead in time in the manufacture of new replacement signs.
