QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive to confirm when he now expects completion of all works on the Cycle Lane from Tallaght Village and will he present a detailed report on works thus far and also detail actions taken to deal with the negative image created by aspects of the project?"

REPLY:

Substantial completion of the Tallaght to Templeogue Cycle route is expected by the end of June 2016 and snags on the scheme are expected to continue into July. A report on the works to date is being prepared and will be presented in due course.

Actions to improve the image of the project include improved communication with stakeholders, a stricter enforcement of programme, traffic management and quality of works, design adjustments. Finally a landscape plan is currently being prepared.
