QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"To ask the Chief Executive to make a report to this Area Committee regarding remedial works at Castletymon Library and to update the current position regarding the intention to rebuild a new Library in Castletymon?"

REPLY:

There are ongoing efforts to maintain the library infrastructure and to deliver a quality service to our patrons in Castletymon Library. Some remedial work has been carried out recently.

The lease on Castletymon Library is due to be reconsidered in 2017 and the Chief Executive will decide in conjunction with the Architects Department whether the lease will be renewed or if the option for the development of a new library project is feasible.
