MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor D. Richardson

That this Committee supports the opening up of the road through Tallaght village at IT Tallaght. Businesses in the village are struggling to attract customers to the village, I believe a one way system out of the village would help with traffic flow and attract more people in to the village area.  We should be doing more to help attract more people in to the village. Traffic around the retail park can be very heavy with cars using this as a short cut to the Belgard Road. 

REPORT:

The road referred to was closed to general traffic approximately 15 years ago and restricted to public transport in the interest of promoting greater use of public transport. It was subject to the Planning and Development Regulations Part 8 procedure and approved by the members. The matter will be further investigated with a view to bringing a report to a future traffic management meeting.
