That this Committee requests the Manager to examine what land it owns in the vicinity of all schools in the Lucan, Palmerstown and Clondalkin areas with a view to utilising it to assist in the management of school traffic.
That this Council undertakes to ensure that all Council owned land that is currently unused in the Lucan, Clondalkin and Palmerstown areas is properly secured from trespass and kept in a tidy manner.
Cathaoirleach's Business Councillor F. McCarthy
That this Committee requests that the Manager allocates sufficient resources to the Planning Department to ensure that each phase of all housing estates are finished to a satisfactory taking-in-charge standard within a period of eighteen months from the construction of each phase.
That this Committee recommends that Quarryvale Park be upgraded
a) to remove the flooding.
b) the installation of adequate paths.
Cathaoirleach's Business Councillor F. McCarthy
That the Manager undertakes to immediately provide Traffic lights at the Liffey Valley Roundabout (St. Loman’s Rd./Fonthill Rd.junction) in the interests of freeing up traffic jams in the general area. Given that such a proposal formed part of the planning application for the lands at St. Loman’s and that regrettably the plan was approved by An Bord Pleanála, it would make sense to put the measures in place in advance of the commencement of the development.
That the Manager explains the delay in ensuring that all signage relating to the Lucan Village Parking Scheme is in accordance with the Bye-Laws and that the ticket machines are adjusted to refuse money at the weekend.
RIGHTS OF WAY FOR WALKERS
(circulated herewith)
To ask the Manager to write to Magnet Entertainment to request details, including time-scales, as to when its services, including Broadband, will be available to the householders and businesses in the more established regions of Lucan. Currently such works are taking place on Griffeen Avenue to provide welcome services to many householders in housing estates in the local vicinity.
To ask the Manager to report on a time-scale for details of the flight logs at Weston Aerodrome which I have been requesting for a very long time and which have been the subject of ongoing communication with the Aerodrome owners for a very long time since I first requested this information.
To ask the Manager to report on works, including time-scale, to finish the boundary wall at Palmerstown Court Estate on Kennelsfort Road, as part of the closing of the pedestrian laneway from Palmerstown Court Estate onto Kennelsfort Road.
To ask the Manager to agree to write to NTL to request when householders, who live in more established estates in the Lucan area, can avail of the NTL Broadband Service. Would the Manager also request NTL to provide details of which estates can avail of NTL's Broadband Service in the Lucan area and what is the estimated time-scale for the provision of this service in all other estates. It is now a considerable time since I was informed by NTL that their Broadband Service would be available in specific estates and I am still awaiting an up-date on this matter.
To ask the Manager to report in detail on the number of Planning Enforcement complaints received within the jurisdiction of the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee, the number of these complaints deemed to be valid and of those the number not pursued, details of those pending and those successfully pursued through the Courts by way of enforcement proceedings from the beginning of 2005 to date. Would the Manager also report on the staffing levels in the Enforcement Section to deal with these complaints and the average waiting time appropriate to the cases in this period before the matters were dealt with and resolved.
To ask the Manager to report on the re-instatement works, including materials to be used and quality of finish planned, on the cycle paths in areas, for example Griffeen Avenue, where Magnet Entertainments is currently engaged in works to provide services, including Broadband, to many householders in housing estates in South Lucan. Would the Manager also please report on the other cycle paths in this area, for example on the opposite side of Griffeen Avenue, as the quality of these cycle paths is not of a standard to encourage cyclists to use this cycling facility. Would the Manager agree to carry out an examination of these cycle paths and report back to the next Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee Meeting of the Road's Department?
To ask the Manager to report on the work, including time-scale, for the reinstatement of the wall in the cul-de-sac at house nos. 10-11 Cannonbrook Park, Lucan as previously reported, including my representations to this Committee on 18th October 2005, and to my subsequent requests to have the lands behind this wall levelled and cleared owing to the constant anti-social behaviour effecting the quality of life of local residents in Cannonbrook.
To ask the Manager to report on details of the Tree Planting Programme as part of the Outer Ring Road works in Lucan. The removal of such a huge amount of trees as part of these road works, has caused great upset to many Local Residents who live on this road.
To ask the Manager for a general clean up & repair of railings damaged by vandals in Oldchurch Estate & to request Allocations Support Unit & the Estate Manager to liaise & focus their attentions on a small number of local residents engaged in anti -social behaviour.
