That the Manager outline what progress has taken place to ensure that funding is provided by South Dublin County Council, in conjunction with the VEC, to allow two valuable sports and recreational facilities at Collinstown Park Community College, Clondalkin and Pobalscoil Isolde, Palmerstown remain open to the public and community groups during 2009; given that no guaranteed national funding stream appears to be available despite strenuous efforts from several sources; to commit to providing such finance by the expiry of the Dormant Accounts funding on 31st December 2008; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

"That this Council Committee concerned at the difficulties being experienced by students attending the local IT in Tallaght, their lack of any shelter at the bus stop on the Old Blessington Road opposite  St Maelruans Church and at the long and unnescessary delay in the erection of any  shelter at this site, agrees to call on the manager to immediately contact  Bus Atha Cliath to resolve this issue as a matter of urgency".

"That this committee calls on the Manager to write to Dublin Bus requesting an alternative bus stop to be placed in the vicinity of the recently controversially removed stop opposite the main entrance to the De Selby estate on the Blessington Road as a matter of urgency - the removal of this stop is causing enormous hardship to residents of the De Selby and surrounding areas who are dependent on Dublin Bus as their primary mode of transport, particularly at this time of year given bad weather, low visibility at night etc".
