CONSERVATON GRANTS FOR PROTECTED STRUCTURES 2009-2010
The Council issued grants totalling €102,253.61 during the year 2009, to assist owners and occupiers to carry out conservation works on protected structures in the County. The following is the protected structure in the Rathfarnham Electoral Area for which grants were issued.
A summary of the grant aided work carried out is also included.

The expenditure on grants paid by the Council under this Scheme is fully recoupable from the Department of the Environment Heritage and Local Government.
A copy of the advertisement for the Scheme of Grants 2010 for Conservation Works on Protected Structures is attached for information. This advert has been circulated to all the elected members and to owners of Protected Structures as listed on the Councils Record of Protected Structures.

SCHEME OF GRANTS FOR CONSERVATION WORKS ON
PROTECTED STRUCTURES 2010
Applications are invited for consideration under the Scheme of Grants for Conservation Works on Protected Structures 2010 to assist owners and occupiers to carry out conservation works on protected structures. The scheme is part of a package of measures introduced by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government to strengthen the protection of the architectural heritage.
Under the scheme, a wide range of conservation works will qualify for grants, generally amounting to 50% of the cost of works up to maximum of €13,000, or an amount of €25,000 in exceptional circumstances. The scheme is not intended to assist in carrying out routine maintenance, alterations or improvements and does not apply to works begun before commencement of this scheme.
On receipt of notification of funding being made available, from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government, applications will be assessed on a prioritised basis in accordance with the scheme, and grants if approved, paid from an allocation by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to the Council for this purpose.
The closing date for receipt of grant applications in the South Dublin County Council area is 4.00 p.m. on Friday 12th February, 2010
