This Committee calls on the Manager to give an updated report regarding what precisely is causing, in many cases, a lengthy delay for customers looking for a replacement bin for their refuse collection and the new measures if any he proposes to introduce to resolve this delay.

REPORT:

There are approximately 250 bins awaiting delivery at present.  There has been some restructuring in this area of work with deliveries now being carried out on an area by area basis to ensure more efficient and cost effective distribution.  The commencement of this led to backlogs of bin deliveries in some areas which have now been substantially resolved.  Subject to a full staff complement being available approxiamtely 100 bins are delivered each week by delivery crews.
