That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to carry out and provide an audit of public litter bin provision within the Adamstown area and to compare same against bin provision levels within Lucan and surrounding established areas and where significant deficiencies or disparities are identified, to bring forward proposals for the installation of additional public litter bins throughout Adamstown having regard to the substantial population growth and increasing usage of public spaces, parks, transport routes and community areas within the locality.
That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to provide an update regarding the longstanding issue of private vehicles parking within the bus lane corridor extending from the Castle Gate area towards the Adamstown Link Road and to outline what measures, engagement, communications strategy or enforcement planning has been undertaken or is proposed in advance of any future expansion or introduction of additional bus services within the Adamstown area. And further, having regard to the fact that sections of this bus lane have remained largely unused for public transport purposes for many years, during which time significant numbers of local residents have come to rely upon the area for informal parking due to ongoing parking pressures within Adamstown to ask how the Council intends to manage any future transition away from such usage in a manner that minimises conflict with residents while facilitating the delivery of enhanced public transport infrastructure and bus connectivity within the wider Adamstown area.
To ask the Chief Executive for a detailed report into Corkagh House site excavations that includes site numbers, details of a tunnel, items found, etc., and how the public can access the excavation report.
That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to commence engagement with the Lucan Festival Committee, Lucan Tidy Towns, elected members and other relevant stakeholders regarding arrangements for the Christmas tree and associated seasonal lighting/events on Lucan Village Green for Christmas 2026 and future years, including consideration of the most appropriate location for the tree, associated infrastructure requirements, planting and landscaping considerations and the potential ongoing role of community groups in supporting and enhancing the Village Green as a focal civic and community space within Lucan Village.
That this Committee requests an audit of vacant or soon to become vacant commercial premises within Lucan Village and a report on measures available to support occupancy, meanwhile use and village regeneration.

And further, to clarify whether the current parking arrangements align with the overall vision and planning objectives envisaged by South Dublin County Council for the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone, particularly having regard to the limited on-street parking provision within the wider area, the role of The Crossings as a key town centre and transport hub and the need to maintain accessible local services and amenities for all members of the community.

That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to consider the development of a local event or series of events in Lucan to coincide with the annual Liffey Descent, making use of the upgraded Liffey Weir and surrounding public realm. This would provide an opportunity to animate the area, support local business, community activity, and maximise the benefit of recent investment in the public space.
To ask the manager for an update on the Tree Maintenance Programme for Lucan, Palmerstown and North Clondalkin - estates which have been completed, and projected dates for completion of other estates.

That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to report on all heritage sites within the Lucan / Palmerstown / North Clondalkin LEA, including but not limited to the recent funding awarded to Aderrig, and to provide a comprehensive update to members. The report should identify the full range of heritage sites across the LEA and set out, for each site, its current status, whether any projects are active, planned or proposed, any funding secured or being pursued, and timelines for delivery where applicable, including both Council-owned and privately owned sites.
To ask the Chief Executive to clarify the ownership and zoning status of the lands located adjacent to Griffeen Avenue, the R136 Outer Ring Road and the Griffeen Community College development (see attached photo) and to outline any existing or proposed plans for these lands and whether elected members and the local community will have an opportunity for input into any future proposals relating to the site.

That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to produce a report and plan for Lucan Village Green with specific focus on ongoing maintenance and upkeep. The report should outline the current maintenance regime including cleaning arrangements for steps, glass and railings, and the maintenance of all planting. It should also set out how the Council will ensure that the area is maintained to the standard expected of a key public space.
That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to examine the feasibility of introducing a public bicycle rental / bike-share scheme within the Lucan area including potential locations along the Grand Canal Greenway, Lucan Village, local parks, Adamstown and nearby public transport hubs such as train stations to support the significant increase in cycling and active travel within the area following the recent canal and public realm improvement works and to consider how such a scheme could facilitate bicycles being hired and returned at different locations to improve local connectivity, sustainable transport options, recreation and first/last mile access for residents and visitors.
