The lands and buildings in question are not only within the area for the proposed for even far more sensitivily and critically are within the SAAO."

"To ask the Manager for a report on surface water drainage problems that have recently been experienced in Sarsfield Park Estate, Lucan, and to advise if the problems are associated with damaged gullies or are occuring as a result of recent footpath works which included dishing between renewed footpaths and the roadway?"
"That this Committee is seriously disappointed by the apparent change of attitude by the Minister and Department of Social Welfare (as reflected in different responses in correspondence to SDCC on the matter and a recent Parliamentary Question) about repeated proposals from the Council to provide an adequate Social Welfare Office in Lucan, and requests the Manager to write again to the Minister drawing her attention to the fact that over 4,300 Lucan EA residents are on the Live Register, that the existing SW Office is quite unsuitable, that the Lucan EA does not have a LES office, and asking the Minister to give these deficiencies in services for unemployed residents and the provision of improved facilities and services a higher priority, and to copy the correspondence to the Minister to the four Dublin Mid-West Dail Deputies."

"This Committee in commending and congratulating the organizers and communities of Palmerstown and Lucan for their Summer Festivals, acknowledges and appreciates also the support and role of this Council in helping make these festivals a success over the past few years, now requests Management to bring forward a strategy for discussion and adoption by this Committee at its September meeting, on how these festivals and the community spirit that inspired them can be built upon so that all residents of the Lucan Palmerston Area Committee can play an active and successful role in the planned “Gathering 2013” and that the opportunity be availed of to strengthen community ties and a sense of common identity amongst the people from so many different backgrounds that make up what is one of the newest, largest and most dynamic residential conglomerates in the EU."
