QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the manager for an update on the replacement of the damaged green on Ballycullen Green as requested by the combined residents' committee of Glenvara Glenlyon and Castlefield?"

REPLY:

The green space at Glenvara Park was used by the Contractor who carried out the recent Quality Bus Corridor scheme. When the Contractor left he re-instated the Park to the standard that was generally acceptable to SDCC Parks section.

Drainage issues were subsequently raised and it was agreed to carry out some trial excavations to ensure that the Contractor had not left material buried in the Park.

These trial excavations have been carried out by the Contractor and witnessed by the Resident Engineer for the Project and there was no buried construction materials found. Reinstatement of the green has been undertaken in accordance with the Contract.
