To ask the Manager if he will write to the Rail Procurement Agency seeking updated information on the Agency's plans for the provision of LUAS and METRO services to Lucan, Clondalkin and Palmerstown, and if he will particularly request the RPA to clarify apparent contradictions, in respect of routes and time-scales, between the presentation made to the Committee at a recent Area Committee meeting and the plans announced by the Minister of Transport for the Lucan LUAS in Transport 21?

That the Manager details what discussions have taken place with the developers of Adamstown regarding the construction of a leisure centre with a swimming pool and all-weather pitch at the flexible use building to be located beside the site identified as Primary School #1 and to specify whether or not the swimming pool will be in public or private ownership.

That this Committee calls upon the Council to immediately consult with the Parent’s Associations and Boards of Management of St. Thomas’ School, Scoil Aine Naofa and Lucan Community College with a view to implementing traffic management measures to ensure the safety of school-goers arising from the increasing hazards posed by traffic in the vicinity of the schools.

That the Manager immediately changes the traffic priority at the junction of Dodsboro Road and the Old Celbridge Road and puts in place appropriate measures to prevent illegal right-turns in an effort to combat rat-running.

That this Committee notes the serious concerns recently expressed to Councillors by representatives of the parents and Boards of Management of Primary Schools in Lucan ( St Anne's and St Thomas' in Esker, and St Andrews and the Boys and Girls National Schools in Lucan Village) about the safety of school  children on the roads and footpaths adjacent to the schools, and requests the Manager to have an on-the-spot evaluation of the position at the schools carried out by the Council's Roads Department with a view to bringing forward practical proposals to improve the situation as soon as possible,and that An Garda Siochana be consulted about the matter.
