That this Committee calls on the Manager for a report on the graffiti cleaning programme for county, of particular concern is the Templeogue/Terenure ward which has seen a huge increase in recent weeks.And also to comment on any negotiations that may be taking place with Dublin City Council in relation to any discussions they may be having with utility companies regarding any plans for their own cleaning programme.

"That this Committee calls on the Manager to restore the green-space at Kiltalown Path/Rd/Park to a safe and secure area for children and residents to use recreationally. In addition to this that the Manager instruct the litter wardens to aggressively pursue those perpetrators of the disgraceful dumping and burning that has robbed the local residents of their amenity. That the Manager also agrees to install as a matter of urgency a mobile CCTV Camera on the green space to aid the Litter wardens in their effort to catch these enemies of the Community".

That this Council welcomes the publication of the Heads of Bill which will allow for the future establishment of Technological Universities and the mergers of Institutes of Technology, and notes that the DIT, IT Tallaght and IT Blanchardstown have expressed interest in becoming a technological university. This Council notes Head 53 of the Heads of Bill dealing with membership of the Governing Bodies of the proposed Technological Universities, and is concerned that the Sections under this Head makes little or no explicit provision for representation on Governing Bodies, of persons representative of local authorities, eg SDCC, or the communities in which the Institute of Technology Tallaght is situated, in the case of the potential Dublin Technological University, and requests the Manager to write to the Minister for Education conveying this concern of the Council to him.

That this Council deplores the delay on the part of the Government to implement, as promised in the Programme for Government 2011, and repeated in A Resource Opportunity - Waste Management Policy in Ireland (July 2012), a scheme to provide low income households with financial assistance in paying for household waste collection, and requests the Manager to convey this sentiment to the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, and ask the Minister to advise on a date on which the Government will put a support scheme in place.
