MEETING OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

Tuesday, May 06, 2014

QUESTION NO. 4

QUESTION: Councillor C. King

To ask the Manager to state how many houses and therefore Families have benefited from the windows and doors programme since its current form was commenced in 2009 to date taking in the full five year term of this Council?

REPLY:

The window replacement programme commenced in 2010 and since that time 718 houses countywide have had windows/doors replaced.

There is provision of €950,000 for the 2014 programme and the anticipated number of completions would be in the region of 160 countywide.  Currently there are 23 houses with the window contractor for replacement.

Countywide there are 760 houses with windows graded 5 and in need of replacement.

It should be noted that the list is live and added to each year through tenant contact.  The programme is operated by date of application, the rent account being in order i.e. either clear or tenant adhering to an official arrangement for a minimum period of 6 months and having no anti social issues.   Priority is also given to applicants with serious medical conditions.
