The Brookview Women's group is in existence for 25 years and age in range from 55 to 86. The women's group has been using the Brookview Estate Management office for over 20 years but due to Covid they had to stop meeting. The women's group is just one of the many groups that utilised the building over the years. The objectives of the South Dublin Age Friendly County Programme are to: Improve the health and well-being of older people in the County. Increase participation in the social, economic, and cultural life of the community and to ensure ongoing progress to enhance the quality of life of older people in South Dublin and make our County a place where older people and their participation is highly valued. Therefore, this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to abandon the decision to close the Brookview Estate Management Building office particularly during this time when it is even more important to support groups who would be otherwise socially isolated.

''The €10,000 discretionary Area Committee Fund for the Tallaght Area Committee has yet to be allocated to any project or group. The Council have yet to provide any clear logic as to why it can be allocated for "Reflection Benches" which already receive funding through other sources, but cannot be allocated to other uses that Councillors have proposed as part of the process. This Area Committee, recognising the pandemic of gender based violence, votes to have the €10,000 allocated equally between established, official Women's Refuge services in the Tallaght Area as a small contribution in assisting with their work. We also extend the invitation to local service providers to meet the Tallaght Area Committee to discuss their work and ways in which we may assist them."
