Minutes from Tallaght Area Committee Meeting 21st October, 2013.

"To ask the Manager for an update on plans to tackle the derelict McHugh's site on St James' Rd/Limekiln Avenue, Greenhills and to make a statement on the matter?"

"To ask the Manager for an update on the Dublin 12 Laneway Cleansing Programme, and to ask that laneways at *details provided* be scheduled for immediate cleansing?"

"To ask the Manager for an update on the timescale for appropriate emergency works to be undertaken at the former Cleanbuild site on Bohernabreena Road?"

"To ask the Manager to undertake regular servicing of the litter bin at the carpark, Killakee (lookout) Carpark, as the area is generally in a littered condition which detracts from this 'beauty spot' and would suggest that the bin is not being emptied sufficiently frequently?"

"Could the Manager make a report regarding the numbers of prosecutions for illegal trading in the Tallaght area for 2013 and the outcome of these prosecutions, if any?"

"To ask the Manager to provide the names and numbers of those residents associations and groups that applied for the bulbs for bonfires scheme this year and how these numbers compare to previous years".

"To ask the Manager to arrange for the installation of a temporary mobile CCTV monitor to be placed at the entrance to St Aidan's and St Brigid's National School in an effort to identify those who are blatantly dumping large amounts of household waste beside the litter bins provided at the entrance to the school".

"Would the Manager make a report to this Committee indicating if there is any intention to offer licences to Traders to supply refreshments in Tymon Park and to indicate if he has received any expressions of interest for any such enterprise?"

That the Manager provides a report outlining step by step and also giving a timeline for how bonfire remains were cleared in Brookfield and Jobstown after Halloween.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to provide a detailed report on the numbers of bonfires identified with the assistance of a map in the Tallaght area over the Halloween period and to compare it to the figures over the past two years.

That the Manager allocate a crew from the public realm unit to remove illegal signs( i.e. cash for cars etc.)one day a month ?

"That this Committee calls on the Manager to specify the number of 'man hours' expended removing bonfire related material over the Halloween period, stating the tonnage removed and comparing this to the previous two years as a means of rating efficiencies".

That the Manager gives an update report on an ongoing basis to this Committee regarding the seizure of horses in the ** Details supplied** areas.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to investigate what steps can be taken to ensure that the owners of the Burmah garage take active responsibility for it and  maintain it to a standard that does not impact negatively on the local community. As things stand at the moment the two cottages on the site have a signifecent amount of graffiti on them and the gardens are overgrown and full of rubbish.

"To ask the Manager for an update on the process of extinguishing the right of way at Parkwood Avenue as previously debated at this Committee?"

"To ask the Manager to provide a report on works in Greenhills Park over the past 2 months and to state any outstanding works committed to, and when they will be delivered?"

That this Committee calls on the Manager to carry out immediate and urgent remedial works to the ground at the end of the footpath, which runs from opposite 30 St Aongus Crescent to the opening of the laneway at Castletymon Shopping Centre, to eliminate pooling of rainwater and to also eliminate seepage from loose soil from the "desire line" on the green space.

That the Manager provides an explanation for the lack of progress in relation to the upgrading of litter bins and public realm on the Brookfield Road.

"That this Committee commit to the provision of a Skate/BMX Park for the  Tallaght area."

"That this Committee calls on the Manager to put a plan in place in keeping with proposals made by the MacUllium 'Amplifying Voices' group to either remove or alter what is known locally as the 'cage of death' in the playground to ensure children can use the excellent play facilities in place without fear of intimidation, harassment or bullying".

That the Manager indicates the timeline for the taking in charge of the remaining privately held green spaces in the De Selby estate - noting the serious inconvenience to residents due to lack of consistent grass-cutting.

That the Manager deal with the issue once again of the non-availability of a playgound in the Firhouse/Ballycullen area , this Motion is requested on this occasion by the Parents associations of all the primary schools in the area.

"Would the Manager make a report on the recent Warmer Homes works carried out on Social Housing in St Aongus/Tymon North Estates and indicate how many houses were completed and if there is any additional funding available to extend the scheme to other areas?"

"To ask the Manager to state what supports, both formal and informal, are available to those entitled to rent supplement who are seeking private rented accommodation in the area under the remit of this Committee, given the difficulties being experienced in sourcing accommodation at present, and to make a statement on the matter?"

"Would the Manager make a report regarding the Rent Supplement Scheme and indicate if there is any intention of transferring this Scheme to South Dublin County Council from the Department of Social Protection and when this might happen?"

"That this Committee calls on the Manager to provide a report on the progress made if any on the Council owned units at Gleann Na h-Eorna, Cookstown Way that have remained vacant for more than two years with thousands of people waiting to be housed and can the Manager make a detailed statement on the matter".

That this Committee receives a report on the work undertaken to date on the Villages Initiative scheme for Templeogue and Tallaght villages.

"To ask the Manager to support an initiative around soccer in the McUlliam estate based on the model currently being developed in Balgaddy as outlined at November's full Council meeting in the FAI report - to provide whatever supports are necessary to our local Soccer Development officer in terms of contacts/staff locally etc. and to revert back to this Committee early in the New Year with a progress report."
