"This area committee supports the residents of Marlfield Estate in Kiltipper in their request for an EGM with their OMC, to address the recent introduction of parking charges and the lack of engagement from the management company and directors with residents around its introduction, and calls on the Director of Housing to support their request, as property owner of more than 10% of the properties in the estate, by signing their EGM Request. This council also calls on the estate management department to convene an urgent meeting with SDCC tenants of the estate and represent their views at said EGM, if granted?"

That the Chief Executive now detail the findings of the review (mentioned below) amid continued calls by the local community for a pool within the Adamstown SDZ. An Bord Pleanala approved a non-material amendment in 2024, altering a commitment for a leisure centre/swimming pool in the original Adamstown Planning Scheme - and it was since stated that SDCC considered the Adamstown population to be within the catchment area of the Lucan pool - nevertheless a review would be undertaken.

This committee calls on the Manager to provide a detailed report on the number of medical need and fully accessible homes being delivered within new housing developments across the Lucan area. The report should outline: The number of units designed for wheelchair users or with enhanced accessibility features Units allocated or planned for persons with specific medical or disability-related housing needs The tenure of these homes (social, affordable, cost rental or private) How universal design and lifetime adaptable standards are being incorporated into new developments.

To call on the manager to provide wheelchair accessible surfaces in Airlie Park. While seating is available due to the surface they are inaccessible for wheelchair/mobility aid users. A hard accessible pathway to the seating would afford opportunity to use the facility.

This committee calls on the Manager to undertake an urgent assessment of footpath infrastructure throughout the Castlegate area of Adamstown, with particular focus on damaged surfaces, trip hazards, uneven sections, drainage issues and overall accessibility for pedestrians. The committee requests that necessary repair and reinstatement works be prioritised within the current programme of works, and that a clear timeline for remedial action be provided.

That this Area Committee notes the disruption experienced by businesses in Lucan Village during the Village Enhancement Scheme works and requests the Manager to examine and report on potential measures to support business recovery following completion of the works, including the feasibility, statutory requirements and cost implications of initiatives such as temporary parking incentives and promotional or communications campaigns.
