That South Dublin County Council will explore the opportunity to gain Dark Skies Status for the Dublin Mountains, in the Firhouse-Bohernabreena area, in conjunction with Parks and Wildlife, adjacent Councils, and the Dublin Mountain Partnership, to improve access, tourism, and environmental education, and work towards a feasibility study for designated Dark Skies status.

That this council will explore the feasibility of Play streets in residential areas in Rathfarnham, Templeogue, Firhouse, and Bohernabreena. The Council will promote awareness of play streets and develop a promotional activity pack to support neighbourhoods who wish to learn more and participate in the play street programme, which supports children and families to play outdoors.

This Committee request the CE to support the Lucan Festival by way of switching on the Christmas tree lights in Lucan Village. It's appreciated that a recent discussion took place on this matter, however given new members have joined the Lucan Festival committee and some we're unaware of this situation they are looking to get help on this for the year 2023 until they have time to prepare a plan around the provision of Christmas lights.

That this committee requests that funding is included in the upcoming SDCC budget for a pedestrian crossing at peamount road ( a pedestrian crossing on the Peamount Road as you enter Newcastle. Somewhere between the Glebe and the T junction at Annie Mays.) the Senior Executive Engineer has indicated a signal controlled crossing will be installed in this area once funding and resources allow.
