ECONOMIC STRATEGY - FOR NOTING
That this Area Committee request SDCC reconsider a coffee van at Corkagh Park to cater for people with mobility issues who can’t get to new café and caters for after 3pm when that café stops serving and before 10am when it opens and SDCC reconsider this by updating the casual trading by-laws.
That this area committee supports the request for SDCC to reconsider the decision to remove the casual trading location at St Johns entrance, Corkagh Park, where the coffee and donuts van was trading.
To ask the Chief Executive if it would be possible for a funding stream to be made available to the anti-social unit to provide for supports such as counselling where critical incidents occur in local areas?
That this Area Committee congratulate all involved in the Mummers Group called Cleamairí Chluain Dolcáin that has revived the mumming tradition in Clondalkin Village.
That this Area Committee congratulate all involved in the annual Santa event in Monastery estate in December that raised €2,800 for the Hospice.
To ask the Chief Executive would they consider painting a yellow box at the junctions of:
- The Ninth Lock Road
- The New Nangor Road
- The twin roundabouts on the Fonthill Road at Nangor Mills and Dunawley?
That this Area Committee request the road signs in Brittas be cleaned as they are very dirty and not clearly visible at the moment.
To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the timeline for road calming measures on McDonagh's Lane and Mount Seaskin Road in Brittas.
That this Area Committee calls on the relevant sections of South Dublin County Council including the Water and Drainage section to urgently review the effectiveness of the works carried out and assess the current drainage and flooding impacts on neighbouring properties at Fairgreen Saggart, and to report back with findings and recommended actions to resolve the ongoing issues.
That this Area Committee discuss and request a report regarding potential built storage in the Clondalkin Leisure Centre car park to meet the many storage needs locally and estimate the potential cost of such a space.
To ask the Chief Executive on behalf of Cherrywood Residents group when the bollards at Cherrywood Park cul-de-sac will be replaced? (Commitment given at deputation meeting that they be done end of August 2025).
To ask the Chief Executive to give an updated report and timeframe for Footpath repairs at:
- Cherrywood Park
- Cherrywood Lawns
- Cherrywood Grove
- Cherrywood roundabout
- part of Cherrywood Crescent
- Orchard Grove Newcastle.
To ask the Chief Executive to provide an urgent update on the traffic plan for Rathcoole, Newcastle and Saggart, and to outline short-term measures to address congestion.
To ask the Chief Executive to engage with Cherrywood Tidy Towns and propose workable solutions for the storage of their equipment.

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive, given that the process to take in charge The Paddocks is progressing, to accelerate the delivery of a permanent permeable link between The Paddocks and Hillcrest, and to outline what is involved in delivering the link — for example, initiating a consultancy process with residents to agree on the provision of such a link and preparing to apply for funding from the National Transport Authority — and to provide an indicative timeframe for the project from commencement to completion.
That this Area Committee consider rezoning the unused land bordered by Knockmenagh Lane, St Brigid's Cottages and the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel to Green Amenity to facilitate a community space which could include a mini woodland, play-space, a heritage centre and/or another appropriate development to support the restoration of Knockmenagh Lane and further promote Clondalkin's rich history and heritage.
That this Area Committee directs the reinstatement of the correct historic boundary line at Knockmenagh lane's endpoint to its original width. Ensuring a continuous public right of way, compliant with universal design standards in the CDP (Policy SIT 1: Integrated Transport and Accessibility) and in line with KF3 of the Clondalkin LPF.
