"To ask the Manager if consideration will be given to the establishment of a box junction and/or traffic lights at the Carrigmore entrance to Fortunestown Lane in Saggart, given the extensive problems of traffic congestion in the mornings for residents attempting to leave this estate, if consideration has been given to widening the Fortunestown Lane at this point, say the introduction of two lanes between here and the N82 roundabout, and if he could set out what traffic plans have been put in place before the establishment of the new Citywest Retail Centre close to the N82 roundabout, and the impact it will have on local traffic, and particularly the impact in relation to the housing estate in Carrigmore, and if he will make a statement on the matter?"

That this Committee notes with concern that the number on the Live Register at the Clondalkin Social Welfare increased during 2005 by 18%, during a period when the number on the total Live Register decreased by 2%, that the upward trend in the Clondalkin figure is the fourth worst out of 123 SW Local offices in the country, notes also the County Statistics office data show North and South West Clondalkin to have much higher unemployment rates than the rest of the County, and requests the Manager to write to the Minister for Enterprise and Employment and the West Dublin /Kildare Regional Office of FAS asking both to address the worsening unemployment situation in the Clondalkin SW Office area and bring forward specific proposals on training to increase the opportunities of unemployed people signing on at Clondalkin to get employment.
