QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren

“To ask the Manager in view of the recently formed Green School Committee in Glenasmole National School, Bohernabreena, Tallaght, Dublin 24, which was established to highlight the problem of dumping in Glenasmole Valley, if the Manager could outline what if any action he is taking to prevent this problem in one of the great natural beauty spots in South Dublin, and if he and other colleagues from his Department would be prepared to meet the Green School Committee in Bohernabreena, and if he will make a statement on the matter.”

South Dublin County Council is involved in a partnership project, PURE – Protecting Uplands & Rural Environment – along with Dublin City , Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown and Wicklow County Council and Coillte and the ESB.

PURE highlights incidents of dumping within the Dublin/Wicklow mountains and has initiated a number of projects to prevent such occurrences

 

Information on PURE will be provided to the Green School Committee in Bohernabreena. The Litter Warden for the area will contact the committee to discuss possible actions to prevent dumping in the area.
