To thank the Manager for acknowledging my request for assistance in organising a future Lucan Festival as per my Motion to the November 2007 Area Committee Meeting and for the preparation work for the Fused Festival, Ruaille Buaille in June 2008. Perhaps as an extension of this year's Fused Festival, we would move towards an extended Lucan Community Festival in 2009, with early planning preparation to begin in the Autumn of 2008
That the Manager gives a full and detailed report on the Law Department's efforts to resolve the longstanding issue of an illegal halting site on Fortunestown Lane, acknowledging the extreme difficulties that this development is causing on local residents in all surrounding estates. To respond to the question that this Council may be seen to be demonstrating a degree of tolerance to illegal encampments such as this in the West Tallaght area that is not demonstrated elsewhere in the county.

"That this Committee considers recommending the Parks Department to examine the feasibility of providing a residential Caretaker in the grounds of Rathfarnham Castle Park as part of any refurbishment/development proposals for the Castle Grounds into the future which would serve the purpose of providing security and a permanent presence within the grounds of the park."

That this Committee acknowledges with thanks all the very valuable background work being carried out by this Council's Community Department and the Lucan Youth Services, prior to the opening of Lucan's 1st Youth Cafe in an effort for this project to be successful and sustainable.
