MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"That the Manager give a report on the manhole blockage in the garden (*details supplied)."

REPORT:

The Area Inspector has reported that he has been made aware of a blockages at this location previously.  The problem occurs in the private combined drain, the upkeep and maintenance of which is the responsibility of the households connected to it.  The residents at this property have been informed that the Council will carry out a drain clearance, on payment of the relevant charge, if requested to do so.  However no request to carry out a clearance has ever been received. Alternatively the residents may employ a privare contractor to do the work.

The main sewer in the location, which is the Council's responsibility, is in good working order.
